Write an assessment
Write comments and optional word levels on submitted work, then send them.
You own the mark. You write the assessment yourself; Edudojo does not suggest one.
- Open the submitted work (see Read a submission). The Assessment is on the right of the draft. On a phone or a narrow window, open the Assessment tab.
- Write Comments for the student. They come first, and sending needs them.
- Under Rubric, which is optional, choose a level for Critical reasoning and for Evidence and verification. Each row is one scale from Emerging to Flexible. Each level has one line under it that says what the level means, and the level you choose also shows what it looks like for that skill. The name of the skill stays at the top while you scroll its row. Select Clear choice to leave a row Not assessed.
- Under a chosen level you can write one line in Why this level. The student reads it there. Another level clears it.
- Select Save for later to keep your work. The student does not see it.
- Select Send to student. Edudojo asks once, in the page, and tells you what the student will see. Select Send now. The page then shows Sent on and the date.
Save for later and Send to student stay at the bottom of the Assessment while you scroll.
The levels
Emerging, Developing, Independent and Flexible. They are words, never numbers, and Edudojo adds no total or ranking. Judge the thinking, not the length, the vocabulary or how fluent the English or Hindi is.
Change an assessment after you send it
You can still change it. Select Edit assessment, change it, and send it again. The student sees the newest version with Updated on and the date (you see Updated and sent on). Every earlier version is kept in the student’s record.
Who sees it
The student sees the version you sent, under Your teacher’s feedback. Teachers assigned to the course see the sent version and the draft you saved for later. Administrators do not see assessments.
