Course assignments
Add, rename or delete assignments.
A course can have several assignments. Each assignment has its own final submission. A new course starts with one assignment that has no title yet. Students see an assignment only once it has a title, so give the first one its title. How students work and the due date belong to the course, so they apply to every assignment.
Change the assignments
- On Courses, select Assignments at the foot of the course’s card.
- To add one, type its title and select Add assignment.
- To give one a title or change it, select Rename, type the title, then Save. A title cannot be removed.
- To delete one, select Delete, then Delete assignment. This cannot be undone.
When a change is refused
- Students have work in the assignment: it cannot be deleted.
- A course keeps at least one assignment.
- A course has at most 30 assignments.
- A title is required. It has at most 120 characters and no line breaks.
What students and you see
- Students see one card for each assignment that has a title. An assignment with no title is marked on your Courses page. When a course has more than one titled assignment, the card shows the course name above the assignment name.
- On a student’s row, each submitted assignment shows its name and its last save.
- Waiting for you counts each submission that no teacher has opened since it was submitted.
- When a course has more than one assignment, Learner activity shows how many of them a student submitted.
- A student shows In progress until every assignment of the course is submitted. Students cannot submit an assignment with no title, so give each one a title.
- When a course has more than one assignment, a shared draft names its assignment.
- When a course has more than one assignment, submitted work you or the student open shows the assignment name after the course name.
The course’s teacher and an administrator of the institution can change the assignments.
