Write with the coach
The coach asks questions. You write every word.
Your coach asks you one question at a time about your ideas and your draft. It is built to help you think, not to write your work. Stuck? It names one next step toward your assignment: take it, pick another, or change direction.
What you can do
- Reply in the chat by typing, or by Voice input where your browser has it (the first start takes a few seconds).
- Select the speaker icon on a coach reply to hear it.
- Select Polish for one tip on how your writing reads. You make the change.
- Select Review for questions that test your argument, beside or over your draft. Review itself gives no grade.
- If Polish or Review fails, select Try again.
- Select Add picture for a photo or drawing. The coach first says what it thinks the picture shows. You correct it and name unlabeled boxes. When it can view pictures, it sees up to 4 per message.
Voice mode
Select Voice mode beside the mic, or turn it on in your profile. The coach then reads each reply aloud, with a voice on your device only. This browser remembers it.
- Press your mic shortcut (Ctrl+M unless you changed it), speak, and press it again. Check your words, then press Enter to send.
- If the coach is reading, the shortcut stops it and the mic listens.
- To change the shortcut, select Change next to Mic shortcut in your profile, hold Alt (Option on a Mac) and press a letter.
Draft moves
When you state an idea in your own words, the coach may offer it back as a draft move. Choose Add to draft, Edit or Dismiss. If you add one, the chat keeps a note that you added it.
Earlier versions
Use the timeline under the editor to see earlier saved versions. A banner names the version you see. While you look at one, the coach and AI tools wait. Select Back to my draft to keep writing.
