Start a new draft
A new, empty draft in the same course. Nothing is submitted.
Start a new draft opens a new, empty draft in the same course. Use it when you want to begin again.
It is under Continue writing on the course card while you have a draft in progress. It is not there after you submit.
- On your courses page, select Start a new draft on the course card.
- Choose at least one reason: your thesis or argument changed; you misunderstood the task; the draft became too hard to fix; you want a different structure; or Other. For Other, write a few words.
- Select Start a new draft.
What happens to the old draft
Starting again is never a fault. Your earlier draft stays saved, with its versions and its coach chat. Nothing is submitted.
Your teacher can see that you started again and the reasons you gave. They help your teacher understand how you worked. The box says this before you start. Your previous drafts do not open for your teacher. If your teacher already answered a version you shared for feedback, they can still read it with their feedback. A request still waiting closes when you start a new draft.
Read your previous drafts
On the course card, open Previous drafts and select a draft. It opens read-only, with its saved versions and its coach chat. You cannot change it, message the coach there, or submit it. Your previous drafts stay on the card after you submit.
